Here we go

Here we go again, another day and another post full of ramblings and that ought to happen after all a thought piece is just that, something is written from your thoughts and we all know that we can't control our thoughts and it's one of the great mysteries that scientists have devoted decades to understand and still isn't near finding it out. Well, we would leave the talks to scientists and research with the scientists, and let's talk about normal life, something that you and I live through.

The new normal, work from home, only go out for essentials, wear a mask when out, etc. Nowadays I only go out in select cases one scenario would be if I need to get supplies or eat something and the second is if I have to go for photography. I am happy to say that for the last two Sundays I have been able to go out for photography again. Last Sunday it was a Photowalk and yesterday it was a small fun little session with a friend and model.

Another normal is how the time is passed currently it's either live cricket or highlights, little reading, a lot of gaming, and some youtube or some other streaming site. I might have mentioned it but here I am enjoying Visual Novels how days so that can be considered reading if so then it's going great but if you talk about actual books that are going on super slow nowadays.

Also, I like this font, I love the new update to the site done by Google and the option to add all these fonts earlier I had to change the font in the HTML code now I have added so many wonderful fonts. So till next time, Enjoy!

Let's Work from Home

First of all, Let me tell you that I am trying out a new font

So it might not make sense in the future but this time in the year 2020 the world was in the grip of fear of a virus called Corona Virus or COVID-19 but like many countries, in India as well schools and colleges were closed till 31st March and offices were also starting the same.

Our office got there a little late but finally, most of the staff is now set to work from home and though few people were able to go off yesterday or even before and I got delayed by this reason or that reason and finally I am all set to start work from home and this is the test to see that everything is working properly.

Like most of the companies, our company also decided the sent the machines to the home with the workers. So I also brought my machine with me so that I can perform my job and Work from Home and with that in mind this test is being done on the machine just to ensure that everything is working before I have to actually start the work in the evening of Monday. After all, I work in the night shifts supporting US customers.

So this is just kinda normal reporting post updating about the situation and now I mostly in the home and I was already doing so as wife and kid are wife's home as kid's exams were done so so so I am in isolation and it goes and on and on.

There is no reason other than Laziness

And with that wonderful title let's begin our first post of this blog for this year. Just like that in the blink of an eye more than a year passed since the last post here. What did we do? Well a whole lot of things and then nothing much, Nothing at all. Or if you wanna be positive then I did a whole lot of things in my life and enjoyed the time but the reason why the blogs were left neglected would be simple laziness after all these are not very high-brow articles that are well researched or whatnot. But rather these are simple musings on a possibly deranged mind. Now that's a peaceful thought to leave dangling in one's mind, eh?

So, what else happened in the past year is worth repeating well too much honestly, and nothing too. Well, right now the entire world is in the grasp of the fear of the Novel Corona Virus which originated in the Wuhan district in China and is spreading across the world, and though there's no cure available right now, all the countries are trying multiple ways to limit infections. From quarantine to mandatory checking to more but this is more like the current news not the review of the last year.

Well, last year went something like this I read a lot of books, clicked a lot of photos, and created a new Instagram page for my photography, well while you are here then kindly follow me too (https://www.instagram.com/thevikas.show) :). The family is doing fine cousin got married last year. He is happy and I am happy for him. I finally build an awesome computer for myself which will help me in editing photos and hopefully soon videos. I have plans to start not one but two youtube channels. One would be focused on photography while others would be the Booktube channel. Hopefully, by the time, I can collect my energy for the next post I would have more information about the channels and hopefully links to a couple of videos too.

And hopefully, I would have some more updates on the damn first book which is still pending in the first chapter. Maybe and maybe next time this post will be sooner than I am able to do anything at all but at least that would mean that I got off my lazy ass and updated my blogs in time.

Changes are a-coming

Let's not dwell to much on the image, this was shared by me earlier in fun and let's go back to the changes which will be hitting me from the start of next week. I am not sure if I have already shared the information or not but I am back in the night shifts now. After working in day shift for around 16 months.

Now I was working in 9 PM to 6 AM shift but now again that's going to change as I start working with a new client starting this Monday so my new shift timing is going to be 12.30 AM - 09.30 AM IST. Now this may seem odd but I have worked in shifts starting at 2.30 AM, 1:30 AM, 2 AM, 4 AM so it wouldn't be that much of a change but change nonetheless for whatever it's worth.

My journey back to gaming is going strong courtesy of my PS4 Pro. I now own 6 games on disk and just finished - Horizon Zero Dawn (Complete Edition) and plan to start Injustice 2. Life is good when you get to do what you love and that's what I am doing loving the life.

Recently bought couple of more books (around 26) so that's wonderful now I just have to buy a bookself or two to store them safely but that would have to wait. So World Photography Day is on Sunday 19th August and I have select and edit a photo or two to share on that day too.

But coming back to the changes the biggest change is going to be the new client so time to learn new things and also the new timings. Till then learn and grow.

Life is Wonderful

If you know me you would know that I am a hoarder :) in mellow terms. If you want to be specific I am bookoholic and after a gap of many years I am back to being a gamer.

Yes!!!!!! after lusting about Playstation Consoles for close to 20 years I was finally able to get one and now I am proud owner of a brand new PS4 Pro console and it is marvellous.

My time is now wonderfully consumed by different quests or puzzles and I am happy to chase the exclusives which PS is famous for. Already finished "Heavy Rain" and "Beyond: Two Souls" and about to finish "Rise of Tomb Raider". I have already ordered the next phase of games out of which again two are exclusives. "The Last of Us - Remastered" The masterpiece now available for PS4 is as marvellous is ever just better. Then there are "Horizon - Zero Dawn" and "Injustice 2" both of which I should receive by tomorrow.

Life is wonderful and it is made all the more wonderful by my new bookhauls which I have yet to receive but it's Fanstasy heavy. I have finally ordered "Mistborn series" by Brandon Sanderson and I am giddy with enticipation. Though I am realistic that I won't be reading them right away but at least I have got them now. Books will be discussed in other post and details about them in my book blog - Keep on Reading so check it there in few days.

Why do I write or blog?

Why do I write short stories or have so many blogs? I have been asked this question many times. BTW here are my blogs with custom domains

eSoch (This Blog)
MMTvM (Movies, Music, Tv, Musicians)

When I had decided to start a blog, my very first idea was to write and share new short stories. But then I had my photos to showcase and book reviews too. But then I needed a blog for posts like these which doesn't fall under Reviews, Photos or Short Stories. So This blog and I have seen so many movies that I wanted to share my thoughts on that as well. So another blog for movies.

Well if I have been regularly able to update these blogs is a different story in itself because honestly no I haven't been able to keep them updated. Hell till last week I had bought custom domains for only top three blogs and I wasn't able to keep even them updated.

But I am again trying to ensure that the blogs are regularly updated and to motivate myself I have bought 2 more custom domains which you can check above.

In any case not only me but everyone should get a chance to express themselves and you shouldn't be stopped too. So go online and get yourself a blog too no need to get a custom domain just yet. Write or post whatever you like. No need to create 8 different blogs like if you don't wanna do that. Create a blog and keep different pages for different content. Don't be confused about the platform Be in www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com or any other service which allows you to express yourself. And work towards your dreams.

But I have still not shared the reason why I blog or write. Honestly so that I can hone my writing and also that I can be moderately famous. After all who doesn't want to be famous and I may be 35 already but my dream of photography and being a writer won't die. I try to keep the photography going on and hope to write kind of a book sometimes in coming years but till then I would keep on updating these blogs and hone my writing skills because if I can't write 500 or 1500 word posts how can I hope to write a 300 page book. So I would Keep on Blogging you guys Keep on Reading.

Let's talk about Mouse

Let's talk about mouse, No not this mouse,

Neither this mouse,

Nor this one,

This Mouse

Some facts about mouses:

1. They are known to invade homes for food and shelter.
2. Mice, in certain contexts, can be considered vermin which are a major source of crop damage, causing structural damage and spreading diseases through their parasites and feces.
3. A mouse eats 15 - 20 times a day. Therefore they usually build their homes close to food sources, tending to only travel up to 8 m from their burrows to find food.
4. Mice teeth never stop growing
5. A rat’s teeth and jaws can gnaw through substances as hard as lead sheeting and cinder block.
6. The fear of mice and rats is scientifically called “musophobia,” from the Latin word “mus,” meaning “mouse.” It is also known as “murophobia,” from the word “murine.” This word comes from “Muridae,” the scientific term for the family of animals that includes mice and rats.
7. Mice and rats can spread at least 35 diseases to humans, according to the CDC. These diseases include salmonellosis, hantavirus, and rat-bite fever.  The infections may be spread through droppings, urine, saliva, rodent bites, or through fleas or ticks that have fed on an infected rodent (like the bubonic plague!).
8. A female rat can mate as many as 500 times with various males during a six-hour period of receptivity—a state she experiences about 15 times per year. Thus a pair of brown rats can produce as many as 2,000 descendants in a year if left to breed unchecked.
9. One-fifth of the world’s produced food is never eaten by people; instead it is eaten by rats or contaminated with germ-laden rat droppings, urine, or hairs. Over a period of a year, a single rat will produce 25,000 droppings, and a pair of rats will shed one million body hairs. A certain amount is legally allowed in the foods you eat!

****************************************************************
Enough about the facts about Rats/Mouses, they are disgusting, I am not counting the white ones with red eyes they are cute and cuddly. I am talking about Brown or Black rats/mouses which infest your mouse eating through your food, clothes, books, wires etc.

My personal experience is similar to millions I am terrified of them and they are a nuisance. Recently I caught one which was roaming in my house but rather than immediately leaving it little far from my house I kept the cage outside in sun for a couple of days and it died which is much better than killing them with your Chappal or a broom or some other method. And kill them you must. Because it's your duty. Would you prefer if someone few rows over caught a mouse and left near your lane and it came and infested your house?

No one wants to have a pesky thing running around your house, well may be your baby but they are adorable and a bundle of joy some of the time. The main reason for writing the post is because when I told the same thing to my co-workers they made tsch tsch noises saying you shouldn't kill a mouse. Really? Well you should because of all the reasons above and few more. So next time if you catch a mouse don't release it in wild alive as it will then go and trouble some other house just like you tolerated the mouse in your house for few days just forget the cage outside for couple of days and it should take care of it and obviously it will be most effective in killer summers of India.

You already kill them by crushing them, or by poisoning them, Just also kill them kindly when you catch them and don't simply transfer your issues unto others like horror movie "It Follows".

Block of Every kind

From Rawpixel.com through Pexels.com

You may ask, what's up?

But nothing's happening

So that's what's up!

Looks like I have all kind of blocks in my mind, writer's block, photographer's block, Reader's block, blogger's block

I am not being able to update the blogs even sparignly. Haven't been ablet to write a new story for around a year now.

Thankfully now at least I was able to go out and click photos but those photos are just sitting on the harddrive unprocessed.

Thanks to Indiblogger finally I got to update this blog and I manage to update my photography blog here and there but book review blog is also stuck. I hope to revive them but it might take me some time.

Till then I would take small mercies wherever I can.
